Company Profile

Languard Alarms is a family owned security company based in Brighton, covering the whole of Sussex and the surrounding area.

The company was formed in 1984 and has been a prolific installer of security systems, both residential and commercial, since its formation.

Languard alarms is responsible for the installation and maintenance of over 5000 systems. We are listed on the roll of approved installers of NSI/NACOSS, and as such are accepted by all insurance companies, as well as Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire Police forces. Languard Alarms has gained the prestigious quality assurance certification ISO9000 (formerly BS:5750).

The Languard Alarm Company Limited of 217-219, Preston Road in Brighton has recently
(September 2002) achieved ISO 9001:2000 with the UKAS Assessment Body NSI via their NACOSS gold rating scheme.

The scope of this new approval / recognition, achieved in the company’s 21st year of trading
and thought to be among the first in the security industry in the local area, is for
“The Design, Planning, Installation and Maintenance of Security Systems”. Prior to this, the
company had held ISO 9002:1994, and prior to that BS 5750 Part 2: 1987 simply for the
Installation and Maintenance of Intruder Alarm Systems.

Upgrade to this new standard entailed an in depth evaluation and examination of all
operating practices from initial customer calls, through to surveys / risk assessments,
subsequent installation, and on to after sales service support and maintenance. Within this,
it also covered related effectiveness, customer satisfaction, professionalism and compliance
to related statutory and regulatory requirements. Despite the broad depths of such an examination,
it was achieved first evaluation attempt without any problems.

Languard Alarms are proud to be an NSI Gold Company   

NSI is an independent regulatory body working to ensure that security system installers serve you according to the strictest criteria currently possible.

A condition of enrolment is that all our installations comply with BS:4737 and reach a high standard of competence. When our work is completed, a certificate of status and competence is issued to you.

ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) acknowledges the role of NSI and works with NSI to raise standards. The result has been a dramatic reduction in false alarms.

Languard use  
Southern Monitoring Services Ltd which was established in 1983 as a privately owned company to provide third party monitoring services to the security industry within the UK. Since its inception, the goal has been to provide an unrivalled quality of service, cost effectively and to reinvest the profits in people and technology to underpin further company growth.As such SMS achieved the first Quality Assurance ISO 9002 certificate through NACOSS, went on to achieve fire certification to LPS1020 through the Loss Prevention Council and finally, went on to achieve the coveted Investors in People Award.


Insurance

Insurance companies recognise that NACOSS has raised the standards, with most insurers insisting on systems only installed by NACOSS recognised firms before cover or discounted premiums are considered.

Our Services

Our surveyors have many years of experience within the industry and are happy to offer a free, no obligation survey of your premises.

Our installers take tremendous pride in their workmanship and make every endeavour to hide all cables.

Our service engineers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, so in the unlikely situation of your alarm malfunctioning, an engineer can restore your system to full working order, whatever the time of day, or night.

In order to keep problems to a minimum, each system is serviced at regular intervals, using equipment of the highest quality.

If you require Police response, a system installed by a NACOSS recognised firm can be connected to an Alarm Receiving Centre (also known as central stations). There are several methods of connecting your alarm to an 'ARC', including digital communications, Redcare and Dualcom. Languard alarms are able to offer all options.

We also install fire alarms, emergency lighting, televisual surveillance and door entry/access systems.

Languard alarms specialises in service and maintenance and can often offer to take over the servicing of systems not installed by ourselves.
